Accounting Coordinator
Position Summary
The Accounting Coordinator supports Trailhead Community Health Foundation’s day-to-day accounting and finance operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting timely reporting. This role works closely with the Controller on general ledger maintenance, monthly and year-end close activities, and related administrative coordination. The position also supports payroll, benefits, onboarding documentation, and employee records.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Assist with maintaining the general accounting system for the Foundation, including the general ledger and related schedules.
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, and journal entries with appropriate documentation and approvals.
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, investment, and general ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with maintaining accurate accounting for restricted and unrestricted funds, including donor and grant activity.
- Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Assist the Controller with preparation for the annual audit, the Foundation’s IRS Form 990, and other required federal and state filings.
Payroll, Benefits & Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support related to payroll, benefits, onboarding documentation, and employee records in coordination with leadership and external providers.
- Maintain organized employee files and confidential administrative records.
- Support onboarding and offboarding documentation checklists and related coordination.
- Assist with payroll administration and coordinate with the payroll service provider as needed.
- Support benefits-related administration, including enrollments, changes, and renewal documentation.
- Track routine administrative deadlines, required acknowledgements, and related documentation.
Systems, Policies & Special Projects
- Provide financial and administrative support for special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of accounting support, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, or related finance administration experience required; nonprofit experience preferred.
- Experience supporting payroll, benefits, or confidential administrative records is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Comfortable working independently in a startup or growth‑stage environment.

Salary Range & Benefits

Work Schedule & Location
The Accounting Coordinator position follows a hybrid schedule based in Akron, Ohio, with remote work up to two days per week, including Fridays. Standard hours are 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Development Coordinator
Position Summary
The Development Coordinator is a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who provides essential administrative and operational support to the development team at Trailhead Community Health Foundation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth execution of fundraising activities, donor stewardship, and data management processes.
The Coordinator supports day-to-day development operations, including assisting with gift processing, database maintenance, reporting assistance, and event coordination. This position is ideal for a professional eager to learn about nonprofit fundraising and gain hands-on experience supporting philanthropy and donor engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Development Systems and Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect records in the CRM/database.
- Enter and update constituent data, including contact information, gift records, and engagement activities.
- Follow established data entry standards and support ongoing data clean-up and quality assurance efforts.
- Assist with generating mailing lists and basic reports.
- Provide general administrative support related to database usage.
Gift Processing and Donor Acknowledgment
- Assist with processing incoming gifts in a timely and accurate manner, including data entry and documentation.
- Assist with tracking pledges, recurring gifts, and matching gifts.
- Support reconciliation efforts between development and finance records as needed.
Reporting and Administrative Support
- Assist in preparing routine development reports, including donor activity and fundraising progress.
- Support data pulls and reporting needs for campaigns, appeals, and leadership updates.
- Maintain organized digital and physical files related to donors and fundraising activities.
- Provide general administrative support to the development team, including scheduling and document preparation.
Events Support
- Support planning and execution of donor events.
- Assist with event logistics, including registration tracking, attendee management, and follow-up communications.
- Help maintain event records in CRM systems and ensure accurate post-event data entry.
- Coordinate mailings or email communications for donors.
Prospect and Donor Support
- Assist with basic donor and prospect research as needed.
- Help track donor interactions and engagement activities within the CRM.
- Support donor stewardship efforts, including preparing materials and coordinating outreach.
Collaboration and Team Support
- Work closely with development staff to support fundraising priorities and initiatives.
- Provide responsive support to internal team requests for data, materials, or coordination.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment aligned with Trailhead’s mission and values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit, communications, business, or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of administrative, nonprofit, or development experience preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect or similar) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Salary

Development Officer
Position Summary
The Development Officer is a relationship-focused fundraising professional responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of emerging and mid-level donors. This role plays a critical part in building the Foundation’s donor pipeline by identifying, cultivating, and stewarding individuals and families whose philanthropic engagement has the potential to deepen over time.
Working closely with the Chief Development Officer and Director of Development, the Development Officer executes frontline fundraising strategies, supports donor engagement efforts, and helps deliver high-quality donor experiences, including events and personalized touchpoints. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, discipline in moves management, and the ability to translate donor interests into meaningful philanthropic support aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Relationship Management
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 100–150 donors, including emerging donors, loyal annual supporters, and new prospects
- Conduct regular outreach, including in-person meetings, calls, and written communication to deepen relationships
- Develop and implement individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans
- Maintain accurate and timely records of donor interactions and strategies in the CRM system
Pipeline Development and Prospecting
- Identify, qualify, and cultivate new donors to expand the Foundation’s pipeline of future donor prospects
- Conduct prospect research and partner with development leadership to assess giving capacity and alignment
- Transition qualified donors to higher-level portfolios when appropriate, in coordination with the Chief Development Officer and Director of Development
Fundraising and Moves Management
- Execute moves management plans to guide donors through the giving cycle from qualification to solicitation and stewardship
- Solicit annual gifts and multi-year commitments, with a typical focus on gifts of $5,000+
- Support cultivation and solicitation strategies led by the Director of Development and Chief Development Officer
Stewardship, Engagement and Donor Experience
- Ensure timely and meaningful acknowledgment and recognition of donor contributions
- Support the design and execution of personalized stewardship strategies and engagement plans
- Help plan and execute donor events, including cultivation gatherings, stewardship events, and small group experiences that deepen donor connection to the Foundation’s mission
- Partner with internal teams to deliver compelling donor communications and impact storytelling
Events and Engagement Execution
- Collaborate with development and administrative staff to coordinate logistics for donor events (invitations, RSVPs, materials, and follow-up)
- Serve as a relationship manager at events by hosting donors, facilitating introductions, and identifying engagement opportunities
- Leverage events as strategic touchpoints within donor moves management plans
- Track and evaluate event engagement to inform future cultivation strategies
Collaboration and Team Support
- Partner with development and program staff to align donor interests with organizational priorities
- Support broader development initiatives, campaigns, and special projects as needed
- Contribute to a culture of philanthropy by sharing donor insights and engagement strategies across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field required
- 3–5 years of fundraising, sales, event management, or relationship management experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience supporting or executing events or engagement activities preferred
- Familiarity with moves management and donor pipeline development
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Self-motivated and able to manage a high-volume portfolio in a dynamic environment
Salary
$80,000, commensurate with experience
